Enter freely and of your own free will, have a seat and let one of our staff members find a whisky to match your palate. We are by no means whisky snobs but are always more than willing to share our knowledge of and enthusiasm for this beautiful drink with you.
In addition to these spontaneous tastings, you can also contact us for a more extensive tasting session. In just under two hours we will introduce you to various styles and flavors and share some background information on the history, production processes, legislation etc. of worlds' most popular spirit.

Too much choice? Whisky flights!
Madam, Sir, just imagine yourself at the end of a full day in Amsterdam. You may need a little help to process all of the day's impressions and feel a few drams will do the trick. However, it has been a very long day indeed and you don't want to waste your precious drinking time perusing our extensive whisky menu. You're tired and find you are open to suggestions.
Fear not, you weary and thirsty traveler for we have put together a number of so-called 'whisky flights' to alleviate your stress of choice. We have assembled 7 whisky trios, each with their own specific theme. These carefully designed compositions are all served with a glass of water and a little cheese and chocolate to give it all just that little bit more 'oemph'.

Scotch Malt Whisky Society
Since November 2024, Café ZILT has been allowed to call itself an SMWS Partner Bar. As far as we are concerned, it is a great honor to have been asked by this illustrious Scottish whisky society. We are therefore proud to have joined a select group of hospitality establishments, all with a heart for whisky.
The Scotch Malt Whisky Society is an independent bottler and club for whisky enthusiasts. The majority of SMWS bottlings are Scotch, single cask, and cask strength. However, they are no longer limited to the original premise, as evidenced by whiskies from less traditional whisky-producing countries as well as a very recently released blend!
The majority of the range still consists of single cask whisky, for which a unique approach is employed. The whiskies are bottled in the same shape and dark green bottles, on which the name of the distillery is absent. Listed are the Scottish region or country where the whisky originates, the date of distillation, the type of cask, age, volume, alcohol percentage, and the total number of bottles.
This is followed by an often cryptic name and a short, often poetic, description of the aromas and flavors of the whisky.
In this way, it is wonderfully unbiased to embark on a journey of discovery into the world of whisky, in the entirely unique SMWS style. For those who cannot live with uncertainties, the code indicated on the bottle by two sequences of numbers still offers a solution. A little searching on the internet reveals the origin of the bottles.
We have been members of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society ourselves for years and can sincerely recommend that every enthusiast consider a membership. The benefits include an attractive discount on all SMWS whiskies in affiliated partner bars, priority access to new releases, and staying informed about meetings and events.
